KUALA LUMPUR - China’s Ministry of Commerce has vowed to further improve policies supporting foreign investment in 2026.

The ministry pledged to provide equal treatment for foreign-invested companies in domestic consumption programs, government procurement, and public bidding to support long-term development.

The head of the ministry’s foreign investment management department, Wang Ya said China will continue expanding high-standard opening-up to attract foreign investment and strengthen the ‘Invest in China’ brand.

Wang said the government will expand market access and services sector openings, including telecommunications, healthcare, and education, while helping foreign firms grow their value chains.

The ministry will also improve services for foreign investors by applying national treatment, addressing concerns, optimizing support, and holding roundtable meetings, Wang said.

Wang added, China will align with international trade rules to conduct more institutional opening-up trials, and speed up pilot projects to further open the services sector.
