KUALA LUMPUR - Hana Bank has signed a business agreement with the Korean National Tuberculosis Association to promote the health and financial well-being of foreign residents in South Korea.

The agreement, announced on January 28, aims to support foreign nationals who are often part of financially vulnerable groups and at risk of being excluded from essential healthcare services as they settle into local communities, as reported by The Asia Business Daily.

Under the partnership, Hana Bank will provide tailored financial support, including assistance with account opening, overseas remittance services, and economic and financial education, alongside medical services focused on infectious disease prevention and health promotion.

The two organisations also plan to offer tuberculosis and other respiratory infection screenings to foreign customers visiting the Bokshipja Clinic operated by the Korean National Tuberculosis Association.

Foreign residents will additionally receive discount vouchers for drug tests and coupons for various disease prevention programmes.

To improve access for foreigners and seasonal workers living in rural and fishing communities, Hana Bank’s “Mobile Hana Bank” branch and the association’s “Mobile Screening Vehicle” will be deployed simultaneously to deliver on-site financial and medical services.

Jung Hyun Lee, Head of the Foreign Exchange Business Group at Hana Bank, said the bank remained committed to serving the needs of foreign customers in Korea.

“As an essential partner for foreigners living in Korea, Hana Bank offers various events and benefits through the ‘Hana Easy (EZ)’ app, a foreigner-exclusive financial platform supporting 16 languages.

“We will continue to expand the range of financial services dedicated to foreigners to solidify our position as the most convenient and trusted bank for foreign customers,” he said.
