KUALA LUMPUR - Thailand’s Anti-Fake News Center has warned the public against false information claiming that foreigners are now allowed to enter the country visa-free only twice a year.
The centre said the misinformation has caused public misunderstanding and confusion.
Wetang Phuangsup, spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, dismissed the claims after verification with the Immigration Bureau, as reported by Pattaya Mail.
He said no official announcement or legal amendment has been issued to impose a two-entry annual limit on visa-free travel for foreign nationals.
Wetang added that no legal guidelines or regulations have been established to support such a restriction.
He said the Immigration Bureau continues to enforce existing measures, including enhanced screening of foreign nationals who frequently enter and exit Thailand in patterns consistent with visa-run behaviour.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society urged the public to rely only on information released by official authorities, to verify facts and website links carefully, and to share content responsibly to prevent the spread of misinformation.
