KUALA LUMPUR - According to ANTARA, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Yangon, Myanmar, reported that 20 Indonesian nationals (WNI) successfully escaped to Thailand from an online scam site located in the KK Park complex, Myawaddy, Kayin State, Myanmar, on Wednesday.
Reports said more than 300 foreign nationals, including about 75 Indonesians, managed to flee as Myanmar’s military, the Tatmadaw, prepared to raid the compound.
“KBRI has also received confirmation from our embassy in Bangkok that around 20 Indonesian citizens successfully crossed the Moei River into Thailand,” the embassy said in a statement.
The KK Park complex is known to be controlled by the Border Guard Force (BGF) and serves as a hub for online scam operations.
