KUALA LUMPUR - According to Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, Indonesia’s investment realization in 2025 exceeded expectations, reaching Rp1,931.2 trillion (USD114.4 billion), and created jobs for 2.71 million people.
“We have achieved and even slightly exceeded the investment realization target for 2025, set at Rp1,905.6 trillion,” he said during a press conference in Jakarta last Thursday.
Roeslani noted that the achievement represents a 12.7% year on year growth, reflecting ongoing investor confidence in Indonesia’s economy.
He added that the results show the national investment climate remains attractive despite global economic challenges.
Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) from January to December 2025 reached Rp1,030.3 trillion, a 26.6% increase compared with 2024, while Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) totaled Rp900.9 trillion.
Investments outside Java accounted for 51.3% of the total, surpassing Java’s 48.7%, supporting the government’s push for more balanced economic growth across the country.
The base metals, metal products, and non-machinery equipment industries contributed the most, totaling Rp262 trillion.
Other major sectors included transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications with Rp211 trillion, mining with Rp199.6 trillion, other services with Rp170.5 trillion, and housing, industrial estates, and office space with Rp140.4 trillion.
Roeslani highlighted the strategic role of downstreaming policies in increasing investment value.
Downstream investment reached Rp584.1 trillion, accounting for about 30.2% of total investment, and grew 43.3% year on year.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening downstreaming, promoting regional investment distribution, and supporting sustainable economic growth.
With this performance, the government remains optimistic that investment will continue to drive Indonesia’s economic growth and strengthen the country’s competitiveness globally.
