KUALA LUMPUR - The Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has extended the Part Time Re-employment Grant (PTRG) for another two years until December 2027 to support the hiring and retention of senior workers, with applications reopening on December 18, last year.

Under the programme, employers can receive SGD2,500 for each senior worker aged 60 and above that they employ, capped at SGD125,000 per employer, as long as they provide part time re-employment, flexible work options, and structured career planning.

MOM said demand for the grant remains strong, noting that since its launch in 2020, more than 7,500 employers have used the PTRG to support over 65,000 senior workers as of November 2025.

The ministry added that the PTRG works alongside other measures to support older workers, including the Senior Employment Credit, which offers wage offsets of up to 7% for hiring seniors aged 60 and above.

Other support schemes include the Skills Future Level-Up Programme for workers aged 40 and above to help them reskill, as well as Workforce Singapore’s enhanced Career Conversion Programme.

In addition, a Tripartite Workgroup on Senior Employment was formed in July 2025 to promote age-friendly workplaces and improve employability among older workers.

The workgroup has also launched an Alliance for Action on Empowering Multi-Stage Careers for Mature Workers, involving 32 organisations working on solutions such as training, career guidance, job redesign and flexible workload options.
