KUALA LUMPUR - The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) of Philippines said late on Sunday that no overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were affected by the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Taiwan on December 27.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said initial assessments confirmed there were no casualties involving Filipino workers.
“There are no injured nor adversely affected OFWs in the Taiwan earthquake,” Cacdac said.
He said the department is standing in solidarity with those impacted by the natural disaster.
“Our prayers for those adversely affected,” he said.
A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck off eastern Taiwan earlier, with no major casualties reported by authorities.
