JAKARTA - Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines said on June 22 that passengers travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore can now choose from more fare options under their strategic joint business partnership.

The arrangement applies to travel between the two capitals and to passengers connecting onward through the carriers’ combined networks, according to a joint release.

The airlines said the partnership was formalised in January 2026 after regulatory approvals. The June 22 launch introduces joint fare products for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur market, giving customers more booking choices rather than announcing a new route, fare price or flight frequency.

The products build on the carriers’ existing codeshare partnership. Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines said the arrangement allows them to offer a wider range of fares between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and connect passengers to destinations served by both airlines.

Malaysia Aviation Group’s Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business Bryan Foong said, “By introducing joint fare products, we are giving our customers greater choice, improved flexibility, and a more seamless travel experience.”

The carriers are also working on other customer benefits under the partnership. These include reciprocal lounge access, coordinated flight schedules and joint corporate travel arrangements, according to the release. The source describes those benefits as planned, not already fully in place.

Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are two major Southeast Asian aviation gateways. The fare products apply to travel on that city pair and support onward travel across Malaysia, Singapore and other destinations in the airlines’ networks.

The two carriers signed a commercial cooperation framework agreement in October 2019. Since then, they have expanded cooperation through codeshare services covering Malaysia, Singapore, Europe and South Africa.

The airlines also introduced reciprocal accrual and redemption between Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich and Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer frequent flyer programmes in February 2024. That allows eligible members to earn and redeem miles or points on selected flights operated by either carrier.
