JAKARTA - South Korean low-cost carrier T'way Air has opened bookings for its new Seoul Incheon-Jakarta service, becoming the first Korean budget airline to operate the route. According to the company’s press release sent to the media, flights will commence April 29, 2026.
The service will operate five times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays using Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured with 347 seats, consisting of 12 in business class and 335 in economy.
Flights depart Incheon at 3:10 p.m. and arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 8:10 p.m., with return flights leaving Jakarta at 9:50 p.m., arriving at Incheon at 7:05 a.m. the following day.
The route launch stems from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport selecting T'way Air as the replacement carrier for the Incheon-Jakarta route following the Korean Air-Asiana Airlines merger. The Korea Fair Trade Commission mandated route redistribution to prevent monopolistic practices.
Indonesia has actively invited South Korean investors to increase investment in its fast-growing wellness tourism sector. Last year, Indonesia’s tourism minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana visited Seoul for the Tourism Investment Meeting in September.
In 2025, South Korea recorded 124.8 million air passengers, marking a 3.9 percent increase from the previous year, while Indonesia handled 20.5 million international passengers, up 8.14 percent year-over-year.
The Jakarta-Seoul corridor currently sees multiple daily flights operated by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Garuda Indonesia, with schedules totaling between 16 and 21 weekly departures depending on seasonal variations.
T'way Air currently serves 45 destinations and is undergoing a rebranding to Trinity Airways, with the full rollout expected in the second half of 2026, as part of expansion plans following its acquisition by Daemyung Sono Group.
