JAKARTA - DBS Bank has been named the top-performing company in the Asia-Pacific region for 2026, according to a report published by TIME Magazine and data firm Statista.

The ranking, released on February 11, 2026, via TIME’s global digital platform, placed the Singaporean financial institution at the number one spot among 500 regional firms, outranking major competitors like Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Toyota.

TIME and Statista ranked Asia-Pacific’s Best Companies of 2026 by evaluating firms across employee satisfaction, financial performance, and sustainability transparency using survey data, financial records, and ESG indicators to produce a final composite score. DBS achieved the highest composite score, largely due to its balance of record-breaking financial performance and workplace innovation.

The accolade comes just days after the bank reported its full-year 2025 financial results. Under CEO Tan Su Shan, who took over the leadership role in March 2025, DBS posted a record net profit of S$11.0 billion. This performance was driven by a 15% increase in wealth management fees and a net interest margin of 2.15%.

Beyond the financial metrics, TIME also pointed to the bank’s “wide adoptions of AI in their practices” such as the iGrow platform, which uses machine learning to match employees with training and career paths.

DBS also made strides in its "green" portfolio, reporting S$89 billion in facilitated sustainable financing by the end of 2025. Investors have responded favorably to these milestones as DBS shares rose 18% over the last year, outperforming the benchmark Straits Times Index.

While Singapore’s DBS isn’t government-owned, it’s a public company listed on the Singapore Exchange. Temasek, the government’s investment arm, owns about 29% of the shares, making it the bank’s biggest single shareholder.

The ranking also included Indonesia’s Mandiri, BCA, and BNI, alongside Malaysia’s Maybank and CIMB, and the Philippines’ Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and BDO Unibank.
