JAKARTA - PT Finnet Indonesia, a financial technology subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned telecoms group Telkom, signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Migrant Worker Protection to integrate digital payment infrastructure into the ministry’s service platform for the country’s overseas workers.
The agreement was signed at Gedung Bidakara 2 in South Jakarta, attended by Deputy Minister Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla and Director General of Empowerment Dr. Muh. Fachri from KP2MI, alongside Finnet President Director Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin and Director of Business and Marketing Aziz Sidqi.
Finnet said that it’s providing the payment system infrastructure by connecting the ministry's digital services platform to its existing network of 90 banks, 122 billers, 100,000 outlets, and remittance partnerships in seven countries, of which only Malaysia has been publicly confirmed by name.
“With Finnet as our partner, the remittance process for Indonesian migrant workers to their families back home can become easier, safer, and more efficient,” Deputy Minister Dzulfikar said, as shared by Telkom’s press release published on March 2.
Rakhmad also added that Finnet was committed to “continuously developing an integrated and inclusive payment ecosystem to make it easier for Indonesian migrant workers and their families to access financial services safely and efficiently.”
Finnet has been operating since 2006, most recently developing its Finpay Money Migrant application, which allows cross-border QRIS payments for workers in Malaysia. The new KP2MI agreement expands Finnet's reach directly into government ministry systems for migrant worker services.
The Indonesian government previously said that migrant worker remittances hit Rp288 trillion in 2025, up 14 percent from the previous year, primarily originating from countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore consistently ranking as the top sources.
