KUALA LUMPUR - Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport handled 811,170 passengers between Dec 15 and 26, averaging 67,597 travelers daily, which was about two per cent higher than the January to November daily average.

The Airport's Head of Communication and Legal Affairs, Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi said that during the 12 day Christmas and New Year Travel Post operation, the airport managed 5,128 flights, or an average of 427 movements per day, exceeding the yearly daily average of 390.

He said passenger traffic peaked on December 24 at 70,746 travelers, made up of 30,543 domestic and 40,203 international passengers.

The figure was higher than the previous day and reached 108.8%  of the 65,044 passengers recorded on the same date last year.

Asmadi said passenger numbers fell on Christmas Day to 64,157, including 26,970 domestic and 37,187 international travelers.

Traffic rose again on December 26, with the airport handling 72,259 passengers, or 106.5% of the total recorded on the same date in 2024.

He added that flight movements also increased on that day to 448, which was 9.8% higher than the same period last year.

Asmadi said the strong year-end travel trend showed Bali’s tourism sector remains healthy, with arriving passengers exceeding those leaving the island.

On December 26 alone, the airport served 29,751 domestic and 42,508 international passengers.

“This figure includes 17,479 domestic and 24,653 international arrivals,” he said.
