JAKARTA - SATA CommHealth opened Our Migrant Worker Dental Centre at Woodlands Civic Centre on May 23, adding a third dental clinic for migrant workers in Singapore and expanding affordable oral care for workers staying in the north, Minister of State for Manpower Dinesh Vasu Dash said in a speech published by the Ministry of Manpower.
The centre is SATA CommHealth’s first dedicated dental care centre for migrant workers. It is located at 900 South Woodlands Drive, #04-01 Woodlands Civic Centre, Singapore 730900, according to SATA CommHealth’s service page.
The clinic offers routine check-ups, fillings, extractions and treatment for acute dental conditions at affordable cost for migrant workers. Complex cases will be referred to external partners, including Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and HealthServe, according to the speech.
Dinesh said, “This Centre can provide dental care for up to 60 workers a week.” SATA CommHealth will also conduct regular outreach at nearby dormitories and migrant worker clinics to bring oral health education directly to workers.
The opening follows MOM’s wider healthcare measures for migrant workers. The ministry introduced the mandatory Primary Care Plan in 2022 for Work Permit and S Pass holders living in dormitories and workers from the construction, marine and process sectors. The plan lets eligible workers seek primary healthcare with a co-payment of S$5.
MOM said a 2025 National University of Singapore survey involving more than 200 migrant workers found that workers visited dentists less often in Singapore than they routinely did in their home countries. The ministry said many workers were worried about treatment costs and would rather endure dental pain until they returned home.
About 800 migrant workers benefited in 2025 from MOM’s annual dental screening, organised with volunteer dentists and dental, medical and nursing students. Workers who needed follow-up care were referred to affordable dental clinics run by partner NGOs and anchor operators in eastern and western Singapore.
MOM’s construction-sector rules list eligible Work Permit source countries and regions including Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar, the Philippines, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea and Taiwan.
