JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta will charge a Rp1 fare for all MRT trips on June 22, 27, and 28, the Jakarta Provincial Government said through its official news site Berita Jakarta on June 21.

The fare is based on Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Decree No. 102 of 2026 on free public transport services and/or Rp1 fares for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary. MRT Jakarta said the special fare applies across its network on the three anniversary dates.

The city government has also listed Rp1 fares for Transjakarta and LRT Jakarta on Jakarta.go.id. The same anniversary programme includes free access to selected city-linked destinations and public facilities, including Ancol, the National Monument, Jakarta museums, Ragunan Zoo, and several sports and swimming facilities.

MRT Jakarta President Director Tuhiyat said the policy gives residents a low-cost way to use the rail network during the anniversary period. “MRT Jakarta welcomes the Jakarta Provincial Government’s policy to provide a special Rp1 fare to the public for Jakarta’s 499th anniversary,” he said.

Tuhiyat said the fare was also meant to encourage more people to try public transport and make it part of daily travel. He said wider use of mass transport would support a more connected, efficient, and environmentally friendly city.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the city prepared the fare policy as part of the anniversary celebration. He said the offer was intended as a public benefit for residents and a push for greater public transport use during the city’s anniversary period.

Jakarta has used Rp1 public transport fares on special dates before. City sources recorded Rp1 fares for Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta during Jakarta’s 497th anniversary on June 22 and 23, 2024, and again for Transportation Day services on September 17 and 19, 2025.
