JAKARTA - Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration has closed applications for the 2025 Australia Subclass 462 Working Holiday Visa (SDU WHV) just four days after opening, following overwhelming demand that caused the official website to crash.

The application portal opened on October 15 at 9 p.m. (UTC +7) with a quota of 5,500 slots for Indonesian citizens.

According to an announcement made by the Directorate General of Immigration on its official Instagram page, the website received over 1.4 million access attempts within 24 hours, leading to temporary downtime on October 16.

The quota was subsequently filled within four days of reopening registrations and officially closed on October 19.

Comments on the Directorate’s social media showed widespread frustration amongst users who were unable to secure a slot despite multiple attempts, reflecting intense competition for the limited placements.

Authorities urged applicants to prepare required documents early ahead of future openings, given the high competition.
